Anna Smith brings over a decade of dedicated experience to supporting neurodiverse students, driven by a profound passion for their unique potential. Her approach is deeply rooted in collaboration with families, working hand-in-hand to unlock each child’s full capabilities both within and beyond the classroom walls.

Committed to The Sage School’s mission, Anna excels at preparing her students for future academic endeavors and real-world experiences. She ensures they are equipped with the essential skills and confidence necessary for success, fostering a path toward a fulfilling and impactful future. Anna’s compassionate nature and unwavering commitment to personalized learning make her a true advocate for every student she guides.

Carrie brings eight years of teaching experience across various grade levels in both public and private schools in the Dallas area and Dripping Springs, TX. Her background includes special education, where she served as both a special education teacher and case manager—experiences that strengthened her commitment to supporting every learner’s unique strengths and needs.

Carrie’s passion for sports and exercise, along with her experience playing collegiate soccer, helped shape her appreciation for teamwork, perseverance, and lifelong wellness. She is excited to create an encouraging, inclusive environment where all students can grow in confidence, develop healthy habits, and experience success.

David is a physics educator and science communicator with a passion for making complex ideas accessible. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Physics from The University of Texas at Dallas. His graduate research, supported by the U.S. Office of Naval Research (ONR), explored thermoacoustic sound projection using carbon nanotube sheets.

David has taught physics at both the college and high school levels, as well as high school mathematics.

Outside the classroom, David creates long-form educational video essays on YouTube, combining research, storytelling, cinematography, editing, motion graphics, and graphic design to engage audiences with science and culture.

Paige is originally from Detroit, Michigan, where she attended Wayne State University, earning her undergraduate degree while also playing on the women’s basketball team.

This is Paige’s fifth year of teaching, and math is her favorite subject to teach. She is passionate about helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally, all while building the confidence they need to thrive. For Paige, forming strong relationships with students, their families, and the wider school community is at the heart of what she does.

Outside the classroom, you’ll likely find Paige trying out new restaurants with friends, staying active, or cheering on her favorite sports teams.

Ms. Piachonkina earned her bachelor’s degree in History from Austin College, graduating summa cum laude. She previously served as a History Department Head, where she taught middle and high school humanities.

Ms. P’s unique background in historical research, writing, and journalism enriches her classroom, fostering thoughtful inquiry, strong communication, and evidence-based thinking in her students. She is passionate about helping students develop their curiosity, confidence, and critical thinking skills.

Outside of the classroom, Ms. Piachonkina enjoys traveling, reading, swimming, and spending time with friends and family.
